Our team works hard to collect monetary and hair donations used to create wigs made from real hair. These custom hair replacement systems are supplied to families at no cost to them. We depend on donations and volunteers to support the Wigs For Kids mission.

Resident of the Greater Cleveland area his whole life.  Tom graduated from Cleveland State University and raised his four children in the area.  His involvement in nonprofit and civic organization has always filled his spare time.  As retired business professional he joined Wigs for Kids to make children look in the mirror and smile.

As an active volunteer in many social action agencies and organizations Tom has seen children in need in many areas of life.  When a child lacks self-esteem all the other factors cause more pain.  If a child can smile and feel they are accepted they can face the challenges of life with a positive attitude.  At Wigs for Kids Tom always wants to be a part of a forward-thinking positive team.

Caleb is a member of the founding family of Wigs for Kids, Inc. He has been active throughout the organization’s history. He has always found ways to contribute. Joining the organization as a full-time employee in 2012 he worked as the Manager of the Hair Donation program. He worked with donors, salons, stylists and manufacturers to find the best way to help the children with the donated ponytails that arrived each day. He was able to accomplish this by redesigning how Wigs for Kids takes hair donations, processes and sort the hair in house, works with manufacturers and sends recognition for the donated ponytails. He was also able to support Jeffrey Paul’s efforts with the hairpiece manufacturers from all over the world to make sure Wigs for Kids was one of the only hair donation programs in the United States that uses the donated hair directly with the custom hairpieces to supply a hairpiece per child per year of service. He served as the Chairman of one of the Wigs for Day’s Events at the MetroParks Zoo. This day is filled with multiple activities, 5 K run, Cut-A-Thon and a full morning of entertainment. Coordination of all the activities takes determination and perseverance. His leadership was necessary to continue to build stronger relationships with existing partners and to recruit new partners for this annual event. As part of the Fundraising efforts he was instrumental in automating the Wigs for Kids Day activities. He worked to build teams that created campaigns to support the organization. His interest in the fundraising software took him into the development of the CRM software program for all the Wigs for Kids programs. He is currently the technology manager for the organization. Over the years he has used his glass blowing skills to reward donors with unique recognition gifts. In addition, he has developed Christmas ornaments for the annual fundraising activity. As Technical Services Manager Caleb has taken a leadership role in several of the needed projects to bring automation and stronger technical support to the organization. After a 2017 crash he worked with a team that rebuilt the website and has maintained it since that time. As part of work he worked with Ignitro to develop the Locator that offers access to our wide network of stylists. As the staff member representative to our social media partners Caleb has work with them on developing messaging the reflects the needs of the organization. Caleb to on the responsibility of automating all activities of the organization using Infusionsoft software to create messaging, campaigns, and organizing the flow of information through out the organization. All aspects of Wigs for Kids are dependent on his work in this area.

“To be able to work at a non-profit organization where everyone involved has the same goal of helping children in need is a beautiful thing. From the recipient families to the hair donors, financial donors, stylists and all of us here at WFK joining together to succeed in reaching the goal of “Helping Children Look Themselves and live their lives” everyday has been one of the most rewarding and humbling experiences I have been so lucky to be a part of. For that I will always be grateful.

Melanie is no stranger to non-profits, having previously worked 20 years in a non-profit animal shelter. After moving to Ohio, she worked for a dog daycare. But being a caregiver at heart, she jumped at the chance to help do the important work of Wigs For Kids.  “It warms my heart to see the love that goes into each hair donation and knowing I’m part of the process that will lead to putting a smile on a child’s face is the best feeling in the world.”

A lifelong resident of Ohio, and Cleveland State University graduate, Daniel has always had an interest in helping others, and has donated his time as a volunteer or intern to multiple non-profits and charitable organizations. Daniel was drawn to Wigs For Kids in particular by the tangible positive effect the wigs have on their recipient’s self-esteem and overall mental health, as shown by the numerous touching testimonials on the website. As someone who has, unfortunately, had numerous relatives go through cancer, and has seen the mental and emotional toll it can take, Daniel is proud to be part of an organization that makes those trying times a little bit easier.

Lina studied accounting and graduated from University Of Jordan, in Amman Jordan. She started her career at Wigs For Kids in 2019.  “I’m so proud to be part of this amazing, dedicated team. I believe kids who lose their hair suffer physically and emotionally, and it affects their self-esteem. As a team member I tell them to always remember that you are unique just like everyone else. Be confident in yourselves and keep your head up, you will face many struggles but never let yourself be defeated. It’s fulfilling to be able to help all the children who are struggling from horrible disease and Its heartwarming to see the smile on the kid’s face when they receive their wig. When I’m not working you can find me having fun with my three adorable kids and baking, we love to bake and try new recipes.
